Epic Park City Bachelor Party

Day 1

This is often a travel day. If your group was like ours, you may have people flying in from all over the country. Don’t plan anything too ambitious for this first day. Let your crew get the cheapest flights they can and don’t worry too much about coordinating any activities. For us, we had a contingent of people flying in from Arizona and a second coming in from New York. We basically had two waves of bros arriving which made it fairly easy to break up into 2 Ubers from the airport to Park City. And therein lies the first hurdle of your Park City bachelor party, transportation.

Transportation:

Getting Ubers between the Salt Lake City airport and Park City was relatively cheap, easy and straightforward. Where some issues arose came when we needed shorter transportation from Park City to other closer destinations (like Jordanelle Reservoir, the Olympic Park, and Deer Valley). If you have a built in designated driver, then it may make sense to just get a rental at the Salt Lake City Airport (rental car options found HERE). For everyone else, there are really three options available.

The first option involves rolling the dice and trying to get an Uber. We had some difficulty during the day consistently finding 2 Ubers for our group of 8 and wouldn’t recommend you leave this issue until the last minute. If you do decide on Ubering to specific destinations, we would recommend ordering a scheduled pickup and return trip well in advance. The second option would be calling in advance and having a taxi company or private transportation agency take you to and from your destinations. The last option involves taking FREE public transport. Park City actually has a year-round free, clean, and robust public busing network. This is a great option for group transportation if your destination is on the route. For information regarding specific bus lines in Park City, click HERE.

We would recommend planning a late dinner as a meet up point and then hitting the town for drinks on day 1. For those arriving early in the day, checking out the shops along main street, taking the Town Lift up the mountain or visiting the Utah Olympic Center are all suitable options.

Day 2

Wake up to your first morning in Park City and head out to Java Cow Coffee and Ice Cream. Java Cow was conveniently located right next to our VRBO and became a staple of our morning routine.  This establishment has a very unique and appealing vibe which fit our group well. Sports memorabilia, crude gag gifts and a variety of other items lined the small but interesting gift area. For those arriving with an appetite, an assortment of freshly made breakfast sandwiches served on imported New York City bagels are sure to suffice. An eclectic variety of crepes, quiche, acai bowls, and other both sweet and savory bakery items are available as well. For a full menu, click HERE. After breakfast, head back to your lodging and prepare for a day of adventure.

If you’re having a bachelor party in Park City, chances are the groom is a bit an adventurous individual. Fortunately for you, Park City and the surrounding region is flush with prime wilderness perfect for an epic day.

For those visiting during the Winter, hitting the slopes will likely dominate your itinerary. For others like us visiting during Summer, there is a wide array of activities sure to fit your group nicely. Hiking, horseback riding, biking, and boating are some of the main summer staples. After missing out on horseback riding, which needs to be booked well in advance, our group decided on Mountain Biking at Deer Valley Resort (pricing info HERE). For someone who has never mountain biked before, this was both an exhilarating and terrifying activity lol. Try to coordinate in advance and catch a free shuttle over to the summer activities center at Snow Park Lodge to pick up your bike rentals.

The process of checking in and getting suiting up with protective gear and a bike does take some time so plan on arriving a little early. From here, you will have access to the mountain bike lifts for the duration of your rental. Your bikes will go on one lift and your friends will join you on another. The views on the ride up are fantastic and worth mentioning. Trails of varying difficulty are indicated on provided maps and large placards throughout the bike park. For beginners to mountain biking, we highly advise you look into a little instruction on Youtube and even practice if possible prior to your trip to best enjoy this awesome activity. For others like myself who decided to wing it, the soreness, scrapes, and bruises can easily be drown with some IPAs back in town.

After returning from the slopes, clean up and head out for dinner, drinks and a night of merriment. As far as the bar scene goes, Main Street reigns supreme. If bar hopping plans to be a major part of your nights, we highly recommend getting a VRBO or hotel walking distance to Main Street to save any hassle with late night transportation. Park City VRBO listing can be found HERE and Park City hotels HERE!

As far as specific food recommendations go, you can’t go wrong with Prime Steak House and Piano Bar. This upscale establishment has fantastic food and drinks and treated us to our best meal in the city. If the weather is nice, consider requesting an outdoor table on the front patio so as to maximally enjoy yourself without disturbing other guests. We also enjoyed basic American eats at the No Name Saloon (with cool seating overlooking main street), spicey thai food at Baan Thai Cuisine and Bar, and heard good things about Fletchers as well.

After dinner, hit the bars and enjoy another great night of your epic Park City Bachelor Party.

Day 3

Slowly stagger to your feet, take a cold shower to regain your senses and start your day back at Java Cow for some well needed caffeine and chow. After breakfast, head home and prepare for your final day in Park City.

We happened to be in Park City during a record heat wave. With this context, the group decided renting a pontoon boat for the early afternoon on the Jordanelle Reservoir was a perfect way to beat the heat.  The Jordanelle Reservoir is about 20 minutes from the center of Park City and we highly recommend you consider arranging transportation in advance rather than wait and try to secure an uber last minute.

The Jordanelle Rentals and Marina has a wide array of pontoon boats, ski/wake boats, stand up paddle boards, and other rentable water craft sure to accommodate most group sizes and preferences (for a full list of services click HERE). We settled for a 4 hour pontoon boat rental and were very pleased with the service and overall experience. We swam, had some brews, played some tunes, and enjoyed some beautiful views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains in the distance. We also saw some bald eagles as well.

Before ending with our bar scene recommendations, consider these last possible activities to enjoy while in Park City. The first activity is the “Town Lift.”  For a small fee ($25 when we visited), the town lift takes visitors on a scenic ride from Main Street high up into the mountains above. The ride takes about 20 minutes each way and you can feel free to hop off at the half way point to hike and explore. Another activity to consider is visiting Utah Olympic Park.

Park City partially hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and has been selected to host the 2034 Winter Olympics as well. The nearly 400 acre Olympic Park hosts year round activities to prepare future olympians and entertain fans alike. We particularly enjoyed perusing the free Olympic museum and watching the athletes practice freestyle tricks by skiing off jumps into the large swimming pools. For a fee, there are numerous other activities such as ziplining, ropes courses, alpine coasters, and extreme tubing as well (full list of activities listed here). For lovers of sport, visiting the Utah Olympic Park is well worth the trip and is a nice activity for those waiting on others to arrive on day 1 or for those with late flights out of Salt Lake City on your final day as well.

Last but not least, we would be remiss to provide an epic Park City Bachelor Party itinerary without providing some advice and recommendations around the bars and nightlife. For the craft beer lovers out there, Top of Main Brew Pub (formerly Wasatch Brewing Company) is your best option. The Polygamy Porter was not only a refreshing beverage but the shirts also made for some fantastic peacocking attire as well. The High West Saloon made some solid cocktails and is a great starting point to a bar crawl down Main Street. Alpine Distilling Social Aid and Pleasure Club was a fun more upscale place for cocktails and more mellow early in the day hanging out. For late night vibes, the Spur was our favorite. There is often different live music on the ground floor and balcony space and the place was typically packed with other spirited individuals dancing and singing along. No Name Saloon was also a good late night spot and we had fun one night is the little nightclub in the basement of The Cabin as well.
